Gertie Lee Crocker, 85, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Steele, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 in Lakeland.
Born July 22, 1926, at Hornersville, she is the daughter of the late Roy Benfield and Ethel Mae Morgan Benfield.
She was also preceded in death by her son, John D. Crocker; a daughter, Euveda Wright; three sisters and one brother. She was a homemaker, a mother, grandmother and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Ms. Crocker leaves her children: Opal McLemore and Darlene Britt of Caruthersville, Geraldine James of Paragould, Ark., Victor Wayne Crocker of Mulberry, Fla., Danny Crocker of Auburndale, Fla., Charlotte Daniel of Cherokee Village, Ark., Terry Crocker, Paul Crocker and Debbie Crocker, all of Steele and Mark Crocker of Holland and
A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Crocker were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28 at the Pentecostal Church of God in Holland with Rev. Glyn Davis and Rev. Danny Lacer oficiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Shane Crocker, Louis Berryhill, Brian Langdon, Erik Hastings, Allen Underwood and Billy Underwood.
