Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 7, 1974, for Miss Ruby Walker, 71, of Route 1, Steele.
She was born October 4, 1902, at Pottsville,Ark., and died Saturday, January 5, 1974, at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis.
Miss Walker had been a resident of Steele since 1938. She was a graduate of the School of the Ozarks and Peabody College in Nashville and had retired after teaching school locally for many years. Miss Walker was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Miss Walker leaves her father, J.M. Walker of Steele. Her mother, Mrs. Willie Walker, died on Tuesday following her daughter's death on Saturday.
In addition to her father Miss Walker leaves one brother, Otto Walker, of Steele and one sister, Mrs. Lela Motley of Gobler.
The Rev. David Hart officiated the 1:00 p.m. rites in the Chapel of the Cobb Fuenral Home in Blytheville.
Pallbearers were Guy Samples, Kenneth Holmes, Joe Parrott, Bert Poteet, Homer Alexander, and Joe Hardesty.
