J.M. Walker, age 92, of Route 1, Steele, a retired farmer, died Saturday, March 2, 1974, in the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville.
He was born at Holla Bend, Arkansas and came to this area in 1938. Mr. Walker was a Baptist.
He was the husband of Millie Walker, who died January 8, 1974, and the father of Ruby Walker, who died January 5, 1974,
Mr. Walker leaves one son, Otto Walker of Steele; one daughter, Mrs. Lela Motley of Gobler; two brothers: Charley walker and Marion Walker, both of Okmulgee, Okla.; one sister, Miss Lelia Walker of Miami, Fla.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 3, 1974 at 1:00 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, Blytheville with the Rev. James F. McCrary and the Rev. David Hart officiating with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Willie Walker, age 89, of Route 1, Steele, died Tuesday, January 8, 1974 at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti. She was born December 23, 1884 in Searcy, Ark.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had been a resident of Steele since 1938.
She leaves her widower, J.M. Walker of Steele; one son, Otto Walker of Steele; one daughter, Mrs. Lela Motley of Gobler; two brothers: Cyrus McNutt of Tulsa, Okla., and Jim McNutt of Atkins, Ark.; three sisters: Mrs. Essie Bradford of Pottsville, Ark., Mrs. Mattie Mathis of Holdenville, Okla. and Mrs. Myrtle Dawson of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were to be conducted today, Thursday, January 10, 1974, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with the Revs. Paul Currie and David Hart officiating.
Pallbearers were to be Joe Parrott, Joe Hardesty, J.L. Sutton, Sam Ellis, Thomas Kirk, and Marshall Cameron.
Burial was to be in Mount Zion Cemetery with Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge of arrangements.
