Friends and relatives were grieved Monday when news reached here of the death of Ernest Webb Alexander, who was found dead in his bed at his home in Desloge, Mo., that morning. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
The young man was well known in this community, having resided here and moved about six years ago to St. Louis and the past two years have lived at Desloge.
Mr. Alexander was born in Jackson, Tenn., July 27, 1907 and at the time of his death was aged 31 years, 3 months and 17 days. At the age of 13 he united with the Pleasant Plans Baptist church of Jackson.
He is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Alexander of Desloge; three sisters: Mrs. Raymond Frakes of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ralph Ennis of Caruthersville and Mrs. Pat Woods of St. Louis, and a host of other relatives and friends who deeply mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held from the Baptist church in this city Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Elder Thomas C. Whitfield, pastor of the Church of Christ. Interment was made in Mount Zion Cemetery. German Undertaking Co. was in charge of arrangements.
