Paulice Dean Alexander, 86, of Cooter passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, in Memphis, Tenn. He was born May 6, 1932, in Enville, Tenn.; to the late James Leonard Alexander and Cora Hughes Alexander. On Feb. 6, 1951, he was united in marriage to Frances Morris Alexander, who preceded him in death. He served his country in the United States Army. He owned and operated Cooper's Grocery Store for over 40 years, was a member of the Cooter Lions Club for many years and taught Sunday School for 60 years at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cora Alexander; wife, Frances Alexander; one daughter, Paula Alexander; one sister, Carrie Nell Vandriver, and four brothers, Neil, James, Robert and Bill Alexander.
Survivors of Mr. Alexander include one son, Tim and Linda Alexander of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Kim and Alex Grisanti of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Angie Alexander, Jason Alexander and his wife, Brooke, Tyler Alexander and his wife, Ashley, Elfo Grisanti, Francesca Grisanti, Alexis Grisanti and Lucca Bella Grisanti; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Ethan and Jace; one brother, Wayne Alexander of Blythevile Ark., and many friemnds and relatives.
Funeral services for Mr Alexander were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at Holly Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating. Interment followed at Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1 p.m until the time of the service. Pallbearers were Jason Alexander, Tyler Alexander, Elfo Grisanti, Ethan Alexander, Greg Alexander and Kenny Thomas. Honorary pallbearer was Jace Alexander.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Frances Alexander, 83, died January 2, 2013 in Steele. She was the daughter of the late Opie Morris and Lavern Parham Morris, born October 16, 2929 in Cooter, Mo.
On February 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Paulice Alexander in Piggott, Ark.
Frances was a very active member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter. She was in the church choir and taught many young people in Sunday school.
She also went to beauty school, and after finishing, she opened a beauty shop in her home for many years.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Diane Alexander, and one brother, L.G. Morris.
Survivors include her husband, Paulice Alexander of Cooter; one son, Tim and his wife, Lynda Alexander, of Cooter; one daughter, Kimberly, and her husband, Alex Grisanti, of Germantown, Tenn.; two sisters, Geneva Elkins, of Cooter and Leona May, of Blytheville; seven grandchildren: Angie Alexander, Jason Alexander, Tyler Alexander, Elfo Grisanti, Francesca Grisanti, Alexis Grisanti and Lucca Bella Grisanti; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with the Revs. Dave Lewelling and Joe Smith conducting the services. Burial followed in Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery near Cooter.
Pallbearers wre Gary Stubblefield, Joe Beck Burton, Jason Alexander, Tyler Alexander, Elfo Grisanti and Kenny Thomas.
Funeral arrangements were conducted by Powell Funeral Home of Steele.
