Funeral services for Sandra Marie Adams, 72, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Sandra Marie Adams was born on December 27, 1941, at Willow Springs, Missouri. She was the youngest child of Earl F. "Arky" Anderson and Lana Marie Voltz. Sandy graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1959, where she proudly cheered for the Willow Springs Bears and played clarinet in the band. After graduation, Sandy went on to attend college at Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, where she met John Adams, who soon became the love of her life. John and Sandy were married on April 14, 1961, in Willow Springs, Missouri, and spent fifty-three happy years together.
As a young married couple, John and Sandy established Turkey Track Ranch at Twin Bridges in Douglas County, Missouri, where they raised black angus cattle, showed horses, and had three children together. While her children were growing up, Sandy enjoyed being their number one fan, and always supported their involvement in many activities. When her children left home and had families of their own, Sandy enjoyed traveling with John, playing golf, adding to her extensive arrow head collection, and spoiling their granddaughters.
Sandy was a very outgoing person who loved to meet new people, and who was always ready to welcome friends into her home or help someone in need. Her love for God was strong, and she was quick to share her faith with others. Sandy was a proud member of Calvary General Baptist Church of West Plains, and was also a member of Eastern Star at Pilot Knob Lodge.
After a lengthy illness, Sandy passed away on February 19, 2014, while surrounded by her family. She was much loved, and will be missed by many.
Sandy is survived by her husband, John; three children, Jimalee James of Willow Springs, Missouri, and husband Matt, Bill Adams of West Plains, Missouri, and wife Suzanne, Tori Forsberg of Davenport, Iowa, and husband Scott; three granddaughters, Megan James, Lindsey James and Briana Adams; one sister, Donna Amyx of Pensacola, Florida; five nieces and nephews, Cheryl Amyx, Kim Amyx, Michael Anderson, Debra Duddridge, and Jeff Anderson; a brother-in-law, Byron Adams, a sister-in-law, Donna Kay Smith, and numerous friends, including longtime, childhood friend, Sharon Gaston.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday at Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Springs Scholarship Club, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.robertsondrago.com.
