Funeral services were held Saturday, April 4, 1970, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Steele for Oscar S. Bailey. Rev. Claude Stone, Jr., and Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.

Mr. Bailey was born February 24, 1905, at Steele and died March 31, 1970, at Dallas at the age of 65. He was a buyer and merchandise manager of men's furnishings.

The son of Mrs. Walter Bailey and the late Mr. Bailey, he was married to Pauline Lamb in December, 1926. He was the father of two children.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Pauline Lamb Bailey of Dallas, one son, Robert Bailey of Lansing, Mich., one daughter, Mrs. Brenda Bailey Steele of Dayton, Ohio; his mother, Mrs. Walter Bailey of Steele; two brothers, Elmo A. Bailey of Arcadia, Calif., and Floyd Bailey of Tampa, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Active pallbearers were Robert Lawrence, Clarence Poteet, Gene Wingfield, Don Rogers, Cecil Barnes and Bowen Travis.

Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Ketchum, J.W. Neil, Howard Pender, Jack Brooks, Harbert Hudgens, W.T. Bishop, E.S. Workman and Roy Barnes.
