The Steele Enterprise - Steele, Missouri - Friday, May 13, 1960:
Mrs. Francis Carolina Bishop died suddenly at her home Saturday, May 7. She was at home alone at the time.
Mrs. Bishop, or "Fannie" as she was known to everyone who knew her was 85 years of age and had lived in this community for 41 years.
Survivors include four sons, Elmer, Mack, Orval and Marcus Bishop; one daughter, Mrs. Howard DePriest; twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-five great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Two children died in infancy and another, Mrs. Eva Haggard died in 1948. Also surviving are one brother, Ben H. Simpson of Humble, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hobbs of Conroe, Texas and Mrs. Willie Weiner of Galveston, Texas.
Services were at the Steele Nazarene Church in Steele on Monday, May 9. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the Reverend Harold Thompson officiating, assisted by Rev. Ray Crews of Holland. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 4, 1947, for John Right Bishop, 88, who died at the family residence here Wednesday.

Services were conducted at the First Baptist Church with Rev. H.W. Ellis, pastor, officiating. German Undertaking Co. was in charge of arrangements. Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop was very well known and had many friends. He came to this community 28 years ago where he was engaged in farming.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Francis Bishop, four sons, Elmer Bishop of Canalou, Mack Bishop, Greenfield, Tenn., Orvil Bishop, Portageville, Marcus Bishop, Steele; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Haggard, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Mrs. Howard DePriest of Steele. He also leaves one half sister, Mrs. Minnie Cant, Olivehill, Tenn., one half brother, Newt Vanbibber of Boonville, Miss., and 29 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
