Services were held Wednesday, August 30, 1966 at Nunnery Chapel Baptist church in Denton for
C. A. (Buck) James, 64, who died August 29, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospitall aftr a lengthy illness. The Rev. Armon Shrum of Cardwell officiated.

Mr. James was a retired farmer and had lived in the Denton community most of his life.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Tommie James of Denton; two sons, Carl James of Corning, Ark., and Curmel James of Cedar Hill, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Talley, Steele, Mrs. Etta Whittington, Steele, Mrs. Macie Brown of Kerman, Calif., and Mrs. Betty Lee Buys of Kennett, also four brothers, W. O. James of Wardell, Odell James of Kerman, Calif., Clarence James of Rockford, Ill., and Lois James of Detroit. He also leaves 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gilbert Atchison, Verlon Green, John Gillette, R. E. Hewlett, James Driskill, and R. F. Driskill.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The Steele Enterprise, Steele, Missouri

Services were held February 22, 1985, for Mrs. Tommie T. James, of Route 3, Steele (Denton). She was born February 1, 1899 in Steele, the daughter of the late Nena and Thomas Johnson. She died February 20 in Cedar Hill, Missouri, at age 86.

In 1920 she was married to C. A. "Buck" James, who preceded her in death. Three sons and one daughter also preceded her in death.

Services were from Nunnery Chapel Baptist Church in Denton Friday afternoon at 4:00. Rev. Sherrel Jetton and Rev. A. G. Shrum conducted the services.

She leaves a son, Curmel James, of Cedar Hill.
She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Glen Griffin, Pete Driskill, Verlon Green, Billy Williams, O. B. Watkins and Jerry Green.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steele, with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.
