A.J. Crawford Succumbs To Illness At Age 68
Andrew Crawford, 68, prominent landowner and retired farmer died at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville Sunday after several weeks of illness.
Born in Morgan Field, Ky., he has lived in this vicinity for 58 years. He was a member of the Steele Oddfellows Lodge No. 859.
Funeral service was held at the Micola Baptist Church Tuesday at 3 p.m. Rev. Ivan Hulsey officiated and was assisted by Rev. Don Foley. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge. Graveside service was conducted by the Oddfellows.
Active pallbearers were members of the Steele Oddfellows Lodge, Sam Hamra, Frank Collius, P.G. Morgan, M.H. Harper, and Jack and Fred Kelley were honorary pallbearers.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lula Funderburk Crawford, one son, Andrew Jr. (Jack), one daughter, Mrs. David Whitfield, and three grandchildren, Steele, two brothers, John Crawford, Caruthersville, and Frank Crawford, Cooter; two sisters, Mrs. Rube Sabs of Bragg City, and Mrs. Mack Woodard, Winsville, Mo.
