Wilma DePriest, 94, of Steele, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at River Oaks Care Center in Steele.

Born January 17, 1912 in Saltillo, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John and Fannie Simpson Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard DePriest.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Holland Baptist Church in Holland.

Mrs. DePriest leaves one son, Larry DePriest, of Olive Branch, Miss.; one grandson, Drew DePriest, of Olive Branch; two granddaughters: Suzanne Mirak of Boston, Mass., and Robin Roberts of Jonesboro, Ark.; two great-grandsons: Holt DePriest and Gary DePriest, both of Olive Branch; two step-sisters, Ruby Gruenwald and Cleo Buzzard, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and a special nephew, John Bishop of Ripley, Tenn.

Funeral services for Mrs. DePriest were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2006 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.

Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of services.

Pallbearers were William Waldrop, Berry Hester, Jackie Powell, Raymond DePriest, Roy Bray, Louis DePriest, Fred Pepmille and Carl Avis.
