Ester died in childbirth and her infant Robert Bruce DePriest Jr is buried with her.

Ester May DePriest, 40, wife of the late Robert B. DePriest, passed away at her home near Steele on Saturday, November 29, following a long illness.
Mrs. DePriest, daughter of the late William James Simmons and Serida "Sindie" Gordon Simmons, was born November 30, 1912, in Centerville, Tenn. She and Mr. DePriest were married on March 2, 1929. Nine children were born to them, seven of whom survive and who are: three sons, Eugene, Donald and Joe Leslie DePriest, all of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Jack McNabb Jr. of Alameda, Calif, Lucille, Barbara and Rachel, all of the home; also one grandson.
Also surviving are five brothers, Gillard, Albie and Archie Simmons, all living in Tennessee, Wilburn of Steele and Frank of Gobler, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. King Davis of Winter Garden, Fla., her step-mother, Katie Simmons of Tenn. and a half-brother and half-sister.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Pillow of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at the Steele Baptist Church yesterday (Thursday) afternoon and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
