Mr. Dalton P. Kelley, 89, passed away June 3, 2013, at his residence near the Stateline. Born July 31, 1923, in Iron City, Tenn., he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Stella Isaac Kelley.
Dalton was united in marriage with Frankie Jean Sander son November 7, 1947 in Osceola, Ark.
He was a member of the Holland Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion and the Disabled Veterans. Dalton served his country in the United States Army. He was also an avid antique car collector.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: William L. Kelley and J.P. Kelley; two half brothers: Arthur Kelley and Elvin Kelley; and four half sisters: Stella D. Butler, Mary Stewart, Rosie Blacklee and Ethel Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Kelley, of the Stateline community; one daughter: Phillis Jean Kovacs and her husband, John, of Holland; one brother, Freddie B. Kelley and his wife, Vi, formerly of Holland; and one step-grand-daughter, Kristy Jackson of Fayetteville, N.C. He also leaves Nathan Flowers of Leachville, Ark.
Funeral services were conducted June 5, 2013, at the Holland Baptist Church with Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele, Mo.
Pallbearers were Bill Allison, Mike May, Doug Kelley, Tommy James, Bryan Waldrop, Jimmy Skaggs and Steve Kelley.
Powell Funeral Services of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
