Sammy Joseph Frazier, 56, of Memphis, Tenn., died of cancer at his home Sunday, September 3, 1995.

An automobile mechanic, he was an avid dirt track racer and fan.

Mr. Frazier leaves his wife, Jeannie Frazier, of Memphis; a daughter, Bonnie Cooper of Dyersburg, Tenn.; four sons: Steve Frazier and Michael Frazier, both of Memphis, Carmen Frazier of Eagle River, Alaska, and Toby Frazier of Southaven, Miss.; three sisters, Betty Henley of Black Oak, Ark., Linda Petty of Caruthersville, Mo., and Irene Miller of New Albany, Miss.; six brothers: Alton Frazier, Bill Frazier, and Travis Frazier, all of Memphis, Bobby Frazier of Coloma, Mich., Boyce Frazier of Holland, Mo., and John Frazier of Steele, Mo.; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Frazier were held at 10:00 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, Union Chapel.

Burial was at 3:00 p.m. yesterday at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with arrangements by Memphis Funeral Home, Union Chapel.


Jeanne Catherine Frazier, 78, of Memphis, Tenn., died Tuesday, April 13, 2005, at Memphis.

Born July 28, 1926, in Jonesboro, Ark., daughter of the late Olaf and Bonnie Bartley Ward, she was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.

She married Sam Frazier, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include five sons, Carmen Frazier, of Eagle River, Alaska, Scotty Abel, of Victorville, Calif., Steve and Mike Frazier, both of Memphis and Toby Frazier, of Southaven, Miss.; one daughter, Bonnie Kapp, of Columbia, S.C..; two brothers, Norman Ward, of Van Buren, Ark., and Ronald Ward, of New Orleans, La.; one sister, Carol Gilliam, of Jonesboro, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home of Steele, Mo., with the Rev. Charles Faught officiating.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.

Pallbearers were Shane, Steven, Brad and Mark Frazier, Jason Gray and Tommy Simmons.
