Double funeral services were conducted December 24, 1976, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Steele for Denver Dodd, 43, and Dorman Monroe, 26, who were killed in a December 22 truck accident near Talladega, Alabama. Rev. James McCrary officiated.
Interment was in Sam Hamra Memorial Gardens in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Charles Ferrell, Carroll Lorren, Lamar Hager, Joe Rose, Bobby Pounds, Wendell Hoskins, Ben Chandler, Jerry McClure, Tommy Previtt, Donald Hicks, Tommy Gilbert and Landon Mathis.
Mr. Dodd was born January 11, 1933. He leaves his widow, Dorothy Burrow Dodd; one daughter, Karen Dodd; one son, Denver Joe Dodd, all of Steele; his mother, Lida Mae Dodd of Steele; one sister, Ruth Pierce, of Steele; and one brother, Welton Dodd of Steele.
