Mr. Denver Joe Dodd, 51, of Steele, passed away February 16, 2013 in Steele. Born July 25, 1961 in Hayti, he was the son of the late Sam Denver Dodd and Dorothy Dodd Bandy.
Denver loved sports and was an official Little League baseball player. He graduated from South Pemiscot in 1979.
His profession was truck dispatcher for several different trucking companies.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandmother, Ruby Burrow; and one uncle, Welton Dodd.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Dodd Bandy and her husband, Eric, of Brazil, Ind.; one son Sam Dodd of Steele; one daughter, Sara Dodd of Steele; the mother of his children, Leanne Flood, of Hayti; one sister, Karen Hull and her husband Jerry, of Brazil, Ind.; one granddaughter, London Blake Bryant of Steele; and one niece, Scarlett Simmons and her son, Jude Loyd, of Jonesboro.
Services were conducted February 19, 2013, at Powell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Clark officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Pallbearers were Jimbo Crawford, Keith Pritchard, Lee Clifton, Steve Flood, Riley Rhodes, Michael Dodd, Steve McKay and Van Holt.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
