Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 18, 1977, at the First Baptist Church in Steele for Mrs. Pearl Dodd. Rev. James F. McCrary conducted the service.

She was the wife of the late Samuel Houston Dodd, who died in 1951. She leaves four daughters, Madelyn McCormack of flint, Mich., Mrs. Geraldine Dye of Hemet, Calif., Mrs. Lottie Pfeffer of Steele, and Mrs. Norma Wallace of Hayti; one son, Elvis Dodd of Flint, Mich.; one sister, Ester Dodd, of Portageville; one brother, Rupert Pritchard of Steele; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Wayne Brooks, Sam Brooks, Max Wallace, Jr., Max Wallace, Ken Dodd, and Lee Edward Pfeffer. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge.

Funeral services were held at the Steele Baptist Church last Friday afternoon, October 5 for Samuel Houston Dodd, of this community who died in Memphis hospital Wednesday afternoon. The service was conducted by the Rev. W.H. Cook.
Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Dodd and a son, Ellis Dodd of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Dye of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Lottie Pfeffer of Hayti, Mrs. Madeline Brooks of Flint, Mich. and Mrs. Naomi Wallace of Braggadocio; four brothers, T.E. Dodd of Steele, Joe Dodd of Clarksburg, Tenn., Bob Dodd of Oregon and Otis Dodd of Farmington, Mo. One sister, Mrs Lela Chappel of St. Louis survives and there are eight grandchildren.
