Harbin Hobart Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gabe Brown, was born Nov. 22, 1896, and died at the home of his parents in the Diamond Hall community, August 13, 1935, at the age of 38 years, 8 months and 19 days. He had been afflicted with a nervous trouble in his right hand for about eight years, and infection of the flesh in the left side which was the immediate cause of his death.
He began to fail rapidly August the 9th, and in the presence of many friends and relatives he patiently and quietly met death. He had assured his mother of the fact that he was ready to die at any time. Bearing his suffering with God-given patience, he asked for a glass of water and calmly laid down to die.
He leaves a wife, whose maiden name was Naomi Nichols, a 3- year-old daughter, Joan; two brothers, Wm. H and Heber, and three sisters, Irma C., Ruth and Ivie M. Brown, all at home. Thus the golden circle was broken.
Funeral services were conducted by Elder A. V. Farmer, Granby, The singing was led by J. D. Miracle. A large concourse of friends were present at the funeral, and hearts of the bereft were touched by the many kind words of sympathy of these friends. He was buried in the family cemetery.
The members of the bereaved family hereby express their thanks and appreciation for the expressions of sympathy and kind acts of their many friends.
The body was prepared for burial by the skillful and efficient hands of James Nutman, the Granby undertaker.
