Walter M. Cooper, a long time resident of this community, died June 29th, 1952, at his home at the age of 73 years, and 27 days. He was born June 2, 1879, at Moscow, Ky.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Church of Christ in Steele, with Bro. James R. Braswell officiating and German Funeral Home having charge of arrangements.
Pall bearers were Sonny Weaver, Arthur Hester, Hobert Poteet, D. A. Callens, Homer Templeton, Jr. and J. L. Whitfield.
Survivors of the deceased as his wife, Mrs. Lois Cooper of Steele, three sons, Gus and Paul Cooper of Cooter and Tommie Cooper of Lexington, Tenn., two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Hall of Steele, and Mrs. Jeanetta Spicer of Proctor, Ark., eight grandchildren, one brother, Henry Cook of Poplar Bluff, Mo., three sisters, Mrs. Ella Smith, St. Louis, Mrs. Inda Warlington, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. Bessie Wrinkle, also of Chattanooga.

Mrs. Lois Boon Cooper, 99, the daughter of the late A.L. and Martha Cross Boon, Mo. She was born Jan. 24, 1889 at Covington, Mo., a homemaker and a member of the Steele Church of Christ, she was married November 11, 1905 to Walter Cooper. He preceded her in death.
She leaves one son, Thomas Cooper of Lexington, Tenn.; Two daughters: Mattie Hall of Steele, Mo. and Jeanetta Huxtable of West Memphis, Ark.; sixteen grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Two sons and one daughter also preceded her in death.
Services were conducted from the Church of Christ in Steele, Saturday, March 5, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. by Mr. Mark Raulerson. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steele, with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele.
