Services were held September 20, 1973 at 2:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Steele, for James Hubert Barnard of Blytheville, formerly of Steele. The Rev. Fred Albright officiated.

Mr. Barnard was born April 6, 1945 in Steele and died September 18, 1973 in Holland. He was employed at Simmons Metal Works, Inc., in Blytheville as a welder.

He was the son of Emma Barnard Hill and the late Willard Barnard.

He leaves two sons: David and Gary Barnard of Chicago Heights, Ill.; his mother, Mrs. Emma Hill of Steele; Four brothers, Willard Barnard of Steele, Carl Barnard of Chicago Heights, Ill., Billy Gene Barnard of Atlanta, Ga.; and J. B. Barnard of Steele; five sisters: Mrs. Mary Ann Stanfield, Steele; Mrs. Marilyn Self, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Stella Robinson, Caruthersville; Mrs. Patricia Shuberte, Steele; and Miss Deborah Barnard, Marshall, Mo.; and a girl friend, Betty Louise Hicks, Holland.

Burial was in the Barnard Cemetery with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Britt, Jackie Hicks, James Shuburte, Carroll Littrell, Dave Crawford, and Don Barnard.
