Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5, 1953 for Carl Lesley Thompson, who died at his home on Route 3 after a week's illness. Mr. Thompson had been a resident of this communiyy for 20 years and at the time of his death he was 58 years, 4 months and 6 days old. He was the son of J.W. and Mary Thompson and his death is reported to have been the result of a heart attack.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Effie Thompson, his children, Charles, of the U.S. Air Force in Sunsun, California, Ernest of the U.S. Navy, San Francisco, California, Faye of Goshen, Indiana, Louis of Bolivar, Tenn., Vester of Delaware, Ark., Lucille of Kennett, Mo., and J.W. Thompson of Detroit, Michigan.
German Funeral Home had charge of arrangements and interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
