Mrs. Susie Ann Thompson, 78, of Holland, Mo., passed away November 22, 2013 in Kennett, Mo.
The daughter of the late Clovis Eugene Thompson and Martha Davis Thompson, she was born August 7, 1935 in Red Bay, Ala. On December 7, 1953 she was united in marriage to Reese Thompson in Corinth, Miss., who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Thompson, and one great-great-granddaughter, Maddison Eaton, one brother and four sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Ganus Thomas of Prim, Ark., Pat Schremmer of Holland, Mo.; and Linda Thompson, also of Holland; five grandchildren: Wanda Stubbs of Prim; Jennifer Cantrell of Stratford, Okla.; Steven Ganus of Prim; Rachel McArthur of Steele and Anthony Ireland, also of Steele; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services were conducted November 24, 2013 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating. Burial followed at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Pallbearers included David Lancaster, Jackie Lancaster, Scotty Bomar, Bob Bomar, Daniel Thorne and Bill Stubbs.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
Reese Thompson, 71, of Holland, Mo., died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at his home.
Born Monday, April 3, 1933, in Halltown, Ala., he was the son of the late Bernie McDaniel Thompson and Lueller Fowler Thompson. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Thompson, Lloyd Thompson, Lawton Thompson and Elwood Thompson; one sister, Lillian Thompson Biggs; one grandson, Jason Loereese Thompson; and one son-in-law, Harold Ganus.
He retired from farming in 1985 and was a member of the Holland Baptist Church.
Reese was united in marriage to Susie Ann Thompson on Dec. 8, 1953, in Corinth, Miss.
Mr. Thompson leaves his wife, Susie Ann Thompson, of Holland; Three daughters; Cathy Diane Thompson Ganus of Prim, Ark., Pat Ann Thompson Schremmer and her husband Vernon, and Linda Marie Thompson, all of Holland; Five grandchildren; Wanda Annette Stubbs and Stephen Harold Ganus, both of Prim, Jennifer Diane Cantrell of Strattford, Okla. and Rachel Ann McArthur and Anthony Ray Ireland,II, both of Steele, Mo.; and Nine great-grandchildren; Billy "Caleb" Stubbs, Julia Darlene Ganus and Nathaniel Harold Ganus, all of Prim, Whitney Diane Cantrell and Brooklyn Dawn Cantrell, both of Strattford, and Samantha Karen Cothran, Michael Lee Cothran, Joseph Wayne Ireland and Jacob Anthony Ireland, all of Steele.
Funeral services for Mr. Thompson were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Revs. John Earl Dunavant and Gerald Moss officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Gene Thompson, Roger Thompson, Charles Thompson, Floyd Thompson, J.B. Thompson and James Lee Thompson.
