Mr. Charley W. Thompson, 83, of Wardell, Mo., died Saturday, February 8, 1997, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville (Ark.)
A son of the late Tom and Maybelle Shepard Thompson, he was born February 13, 1913 in Steele, Mo.
A son, Charles W. Thompson Jr., also preceded him in death on January 23, 1997.
Mr. Thompson leaves his wife, Mrs. Ella Thompson, of Wardell; Two sons: Butch Thompson of Lake Placid, Fla. and Tony Thompson of Fort Smith, Ark.; One daugher, Ruth Ann Snowden, of Springfield, Mo.; A brother, Tom Thompson, of Harrisburg, Ill.; Three sisters: Dolly Ornburn of St. Paul, Mo. and Audrey Culp and Pauline Hatchell, both of Steele; Eleven grandchildren; and Eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Thompson were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 1997, at the Wardell church of Christ with Dr. Calvin Bryant officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home of Wardell in charge.
Ella D. Thompson, 80, died November 27, 1997 at the Cox Medical Center in Springfield Mo. Born December 21, 1916, she was the daughter of Robert Kilburn and Myrtie Roberts Kilburn.
She was a member of the Wardell Church of Christ in Wardell, Mo.
She was a homemaker. She was married to Charley Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and one son, Charles Thompson Jr., one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include: two sons, Butch Thompson of Lake Placid, Fl. and Tony Thompson of Ft. Smith, Ar.; one daughter, Ruth Ann Snowdan of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Neal Kilburn of Land-O-Lakes, Fl.; two sisters, Emma Key of Lakeland, Fl. and Ollie James of Bakersfield, Ca.; eleven grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
Services were held at the Osburn Funeral Home in Wardell with Bro. Laddie Owens officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home was in charge of services.
