Funeral service for James Arthur "Ott" Davis was held Sunday, November 30, 1980 at the German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele, Rev. Morrell Upchurch and Rev. David Hart officiated.
Mr. Davis was born September 12, 1924 in Lauderdale County, Ala., and died November 28, 1980 at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He was 56.
He leaves his wife, Effie Sandage Davis, of the home; two daughters, Brenda Jackson of Memphis and Cathy Flowers of Steele; his mother, Mrs. Roxie Davis of Steele; five sisters, Tessie Smith of Ringold, Ga., Lucille Hall of Alton, Ill., Mary Gestring of Battle Creek, Mich., Janie LeFan, of Corinth,Miss., and Eula Palmer of Steele; two brothers, Bud Davis of Steele and Hershel Davis of Battle Creek, Mich.; three grandchildren, Gary and Melanie Jackson of Memphis, and Eric Flowers of Steele; a special nephew, Wendall Davis, of Battle Creek, Mich.
A sister, Lorene Mashburn and a brother, preceded him in death.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
