Funeral services for Harvel Harry Davis, 64, were held Monday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Steele. Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.

Mr. Davis was born February 13, 1918, in Steele, and died May 15, 1982, at Methodist-Central Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.

He had been in the grocery business in Steele for over 25 years before moving to Memphis where he managed a 7-Eleven Store for 15 years.

The son of the late Joe Davis and Ruth Severn Davis, he was united in marriage to Charlene Bradford December 24, 1937, in Blytheville. To this union was born three daughters. One daughter, Wanda Lee Stallons, preceded him in death November 7, 1980.

Mr. Davis leaves his wife, Mrs. Charlene Davis, of Steele;
Two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ann Frazer of Blytheville and Mrs. Carolyn Barnard of Steele;
His step-mother, Mrs. Lora Davis of Steele;
One brother, Woodrow Davis of Steele;
One sister, Mrs. Lorell Turnbo of Mathis, Texas;
Three step-sisters, Mrs. Martha Lou Nowlin of Blytheville, Mrs. Norma Larue of Steele, and Mrs. Jo Nell thomas of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and
Six grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Eddie Gilbert, Gus Bolton, Louis DePriest, Paul Fullerton, Willie D. McDaniel, and Charles McClanahan.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Nicholas, Sam Ellis, Joe Samford, Harbert Hudgens, Thelbert Bishop, Herbert Pugh, Ray Pugh, and C. S. Allbritton.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Mrs. Opal Charlene Davis, 94, of Steele passed away Wednesday, June 24, 205. She was born March 89, 1912, in Steele to the late Golden and Ola Stallons Bradford. She was united in marriage to Harvel Davis on Christmas Eve, 1937, in Steele. They were married for 45 years until his death in 1982.

Mrs. Davis attended school in Denton and was employed as a shipping clerk at the Steele Garment Factory. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Wanda Stallings; one grandson, Richmond Stallings; one sister and one brother.

Survivors of Mrs. Davis include two daughters, Ruth (Kenneth) Frazier of Blytheville and Carolyn Barnard (J.G.) of Steele; two sisters, Alfreeda Daniels of Nashville, Tenn. and Mary Ash of St. Louis; one brother, Willard (Rene) Bradford of Monroe, La.; one sister-in-law, Coleen Bradford of Nevada; one brother-in-law, Odell Robbins, of Springfield, Mo.; one son-in-law, Don Stallings of Blytheville; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, who affectionally call her "Granny"; one great-great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 27th at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Funderburk officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Don Stallings, Caleb Barnard, Wesley Barnard, Gary Dunbar, Keith Anderson and Shiloh Anderson.

John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
