Funeral service was held August 15, 1967 at the German Funeral Home Chapel here for Grover C. Davis, 74, who died August 12, 1967, at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville. He lived west of Holland and was a retired farmer.

Mr. Davis was born May 4, 1893, in Savannah, Tenn., the son of Jeff Davis and Nan Hatley Davis. He had lived in the Holland community for 47 years.

Bro. Walter C. Lumpkin officiated at the funeral service here Tuesday.

He leaves his wife, Rosa Davis; one son, Wilson Davis; two daughters, Gladys Ballard and Irene Terry of Steele; and two half brothers, Earnest Davis and George Davis, both of Savannah.

Also, he leaves six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gordon Lorren, Ted Baugher, Bill Northern, Charles Ellis, Elmer Biggs, and Andrew Biggs.

Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rosie Dildine Davis, 91, of Steele, died January 2, 1992 at her home. Born July 16, 1900 in Savannah, Tenn., she was the daughter of Theodore Thomas and Sarah Hosie Dildine. She was a homemaker and a member of Samford Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Davis; two sons, Wilson and W.L. Davis; and a daughter, Gladys Ballard.

She is survived by a daughter, Irene Terry, of Steele; a brother, Owen Dildine, of Redlands, Calif.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were January 4, at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, the Rev. Barry Sellers officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion cemetery.

Pallbearers were V.M. Jones, William Biggs, Bert Henry, Gary Johnson, E.E. Lindsey and Sidney Rollins.
