Thursday, October 5, 1944:
Clarence Elbert Hicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hicks, died at the family home in Holland Monday, October 1, 1944. Colitis is said to have caused the death of the two months old baby.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday at 3 p.m., with Bro. Peevehouse officiating. Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery with the German Undertaking Co. in charge of arrangements.
Clarence is survived by his parents, three brothers, Floyd, Bobby, Thomas; three sisters, Necie, Mary and Frankie. Also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Hicks and Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Jackson.
