G.M. Hicks, 65, died at his home near Hermondale, Sunday night after a serious illness for three weeks of Bright's disease.
Mr. Hicks was born in west Tennessee and came to southeast Missouri 29 years ago. He had resided on his farm near Missouri-Arkansas state line for a number of years, where he was well known.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Oak Ridge Methodist Church and interment was made in the Number Eight Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Hicks, Anderson, Malcolm, and Leon Hicks of Steele; Leo Hicks of Birmingham, Ala., and M.B. Hicks, Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Inous Williams of Birmingham; and Mrs. Leo Crockett of Detroit; two brothers, Bob Hicks of Bells, Tenn., and Norman Hicks and one sister, Mrs. E. Tole, of Steele.
