Mrs. Helen H. Plunkett, 70, died Sunday, October 20, 1991, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Mo.
Daughter of the late Virgil D. Watkins and Odie B. Crawford, she was born January 20, 1921 at Steele, Mo.
At Holland December 26, 1981 she was united in marriage to J.L. Plunkett.
A member of the Holland, Mo. Baptist Church, Mrs. Plunkett was a wife, mother, homemaker, and a seamstress.
Mrs. Plunkett leaves her husband, J.L. Plunkett, of Holland; four sons: George Hicks of Holland, Robert Hicks of Cincinnati, Ohio, Johnny Ray Plunkett of Blytheville, Ark. and Charles Wesley Plunkett of Hartsville, South Carolina; Six daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Cope of Blytheville, Ark., Mrs. Odie Crim of Salem, Mo., Mrs. Mary Sutton of Kennett, Mo., Mrs. Phyllis Emery of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Sharon Ralph of Summerville, Mo., and Mrs. Debra Ann Stubbs of Berryville, Ark.; Three brothers: Woodrow Watkins of Caruthersville, Mo., Reginald Watkins of Steele, Mo., and L.A. (Buck) Watkins of Aurora, Colo.; Five sisters: Mrs. June Stinnett of Blytheville, Mrs. Alyce McKernan of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Gayle Daniels of Blytheville, and Mrs. Dorothy Teeter and Mrs. Linda Stegall, both of Steele; Twenty-one grandchildren and Eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 23, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. John E. Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at the Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery, near Cooter, Mo., with John W. German Funeral Home, of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Mark Hicks, Darrin Hicks, george Hicks, Dennis Hicks, rich Miller, and Johnny ray Plunkett.

Robert Anderson Hicks, 69, died Saturday in Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville. Born in Obion County, Tenn., he farmed before retiring and had lived in Holland most of his life.
He had served the city of Holland as police judge for six years and had recently been re-elected to that office.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Watkins Hicks, Holland; two sons, George Hicks, Holland and Robert (Bob) Hicks, Blytheville; five daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Cope and Mrs. Mary Moreland, Blytheville, Mrs. Odie Henderson and Mrs. Phyllis Emery, Salem, Mo., and Mrs. Sharon Ralph, Holland, Mo.; two brothers, Malcolm Hicks, Wardell and Leon Hicks, Holland; two sisters: Mrs. Inous Puckett, Duck Hill, Miss., and Mrs. Mary Crocket, Detroit, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. today in the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele. Burial was in Number Eight Cemetery at Cooter.
Pallbearers were Cleatus Bailey, Frank Copeland, Wayne Cooper, Earl Hawkins, Woody Howren, and Olan Pierce.
