Thomas Harry Johnson of Steele passed away Tuesday afternoon at 6 o'clock at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
He was 72 years, 6 months, and 29 days of age and had been sick for sometime.
Mr. Johnson who was a native of Hardin County, Tenn., had lived in this vicinity for the past 35 years.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Chapel of German Funeral Home, Rev. Moates of Caruthersville officiated with interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Newberry Johnson, Clyan Learue, Quentin Still, Jessie Young, Charles McClannahan and H.L. Cupples.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carlie Johnson of Steele; 9 sons, Floyd of Benton Harbor, Mich., Wesley of Mt. Morris, Mich., Jessie of Lake Alford, La., Herman Johnson, Arbyrd, Thomas of Flint, Bobby of St. Louis, Leonard and Charles in service, stationed in Florida and Ray Colbart of Lambrook, Ark.; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Mellose and Mrs. Pauline Jones of MarMaduke, Ark., Mrs. Helen Mick of Lilbourn and Mrs. Bonnie Crain of Caruthersville; 29 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
