The Steele Enterprise, Steele, Missouri
Thursday, April 8, 1937
Funeral services wefe this afternoon (Thursday) at 3 o'clock at the Methodist church for Mrs. Ella Permelia Smith, wife of E.E. Smith, of this city. Rev. M.A. Massey, pastor, conducted the service and with the German Undertaking Co. in charge, burial was made in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith and family have been residents of Steele for about three years and were residents of Yarbro, for 13 years prior. While living in Yarbro, Mrs. Smith was postmistress, and several years ago taught school. She was a member of the primitive Baptist church. During her residence here she has made many friends. Mrs. Smith possessed a Christian character, and in her death the family loses a true and loving wife and mother. Mrs. Smith had been ill for several months with cancer.
She is survived by the husband, two sons, J.D., who is with the U.S. Marines, and could not be here for the services and Emery, Jr., two daughters, Genevieve and Bonnie, the latter three at home.
