Funeral services were held at the Cooter Methodist church last Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Claude Jones, who died Monday as the result of a paralytic stroke. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. D.M. Margrave and interment was in the Mr. Zion cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, 43, was born at Gurdon, Ark., in 1898, and was married to Mr. Jones March 10, 1918. The family moved here in 1929 and established their home here among the better known families of this community. Mrs. Jones had been in ill health for some time, but was never bedfast until two weeks ago, when she had the stroke. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Steele Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Wilborn Jones and four daughters, Alma Ruth, Glendean and Zela, at home, and Mrs. Marlene Vaughn of Memphis, Tenn., also one granddaughter, Ann Marie Jones, also of Cooter. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters survive.
