Mr. William Arnold Jones, 79, of Cooter, Mo., died Tuesday, September 7, 1992 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Blytheville, Ark.
Born November 3, 1912 at Okolona, Ark., he was a son of the late William Ivan Jones and Stella Robertson Jones.
On November 7, 1936 at Steele, Mo., he was married to Ruth Walker.
A member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, he was a retired farmer, a member of the Steele Odd Fellows Lodge IOOF #859 and served on the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association Board.
Mr. Jones leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruth Jones, of Cooter; two daughters: Mrs. Patsy Pyke of Cooter and Mrs. Peggy Harrison of Jonesboro, Ark., two brothers: Virgil Jones of Tucson, Ariz, and Ralph Jones of Concord, Calif.; two sisters: Mrs. Frances Clark of Arkadelphia, Ark. and Mrs. Lilla Fluty of Delaware, Ohio; three grandchildren: Tim Pyke of O'Fallon, Mo., Tammy Pierson of St. Peters, Mo. and Trena Hyde of West Memphis, Ark.; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held Wednesday, September 9, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Williams officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo. with John W. German Fuenral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Bobby Northcutt, Ronnie Cox, Steve Childers, Joe Lee Brackin, Reginald Watkins and Buck Laster.
Honorary pallbearers were Hooper Azbill, Guy Azbill, Marvin Childers, Paulice Alexander, Pete Brackin, Clarence Poteet, Eddie Jarboe, Ray Pugh, Lawrence Little, Ralph McClure, Max Johnson, J. W. Neil and Gene Wingfield.

Mrs. Ruth L. Jones, 78, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born August 19, 1914 at Etowah, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Barnie Walker and Mildred Fall Walker.
Mrs. Jones was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter, Mo.
On November 7, 1936 at Steele, Mo., she was united in marriage with William Arnold Jones, who preceded her in death on September 7, 1992.
Mrs. Jones leaves two daughters: Mrs. Patsy Pyke of Cooter and Mrs. Peggy Harrison of Jonesboro; three grandchildren: Tim Pyke of O'Fallon, Mo., Mrs. Tammy Pierson of St. Peters, Mo., and Miss Trena Hyde of West Memphis, Ark.; two great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Verlin and Dorothy Smith of Edwardsville, Ill.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones were held Thursday, March 11, 1993, at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel at Steele with Rev. Steve Williams officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with arrangements by John W. German Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joe Lee Brackin, Mark Brackin, Ronnie Cox, Charles Barger, Stephen Childers and W.R. McClure.
